Interim President

INTERIM PRESIDENT

While attending Tulsa’s Booker T. Washington High School, Dr. Natasha Roegiers danced with Tulsa  Ballet Theatre (now Tulsa Ballet) before securing a Ballet Scholarship from the University of Utah where she completed a B.F.A. in Ballet and B.A. in French, along with a M.A. in French  Literature. After marrying a gentleman from New Jersey in 1999, whom she met providentially  in Amalfi, Italy, she ventured East to complete her Ph.D. in French at Rutgers University while performing life’s most important work in starting a family.

During her doctoral studies, Dr. Roegiers was selected as 1 of 8 U.S. scholars as a Belgian American Education Foundation Fellow, which led to countless hours in European monasteries  and abbeys studying original manuscripts for her Dissertation “Nun’s the Word”: Restoring  Catholic Faith and Forming National Identity in 19th Century Belgium. Dr. Roegiers has presented her interdisciplinary work at conferences in Ghent and Glasgow. As a dual Belgian/American citizen and native speaker of French and English, Dr. Roegiers has taught French Language and Literature courses at the University of Utah, Westminster College, Rutgers University and Benedictine College.

Dr. Roegiers’ present scholarly interests, in partnership with Parisian and Liègeois historians, focus upon the life of Saint Julie Billiart. Consistent with Saint John Paul II’s message on principles of higher education in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, this cross-disciplinary collaboration between history and literature has continually nourished her scholarly work. Dr. Roegiers has  endeavored to analyze literature’s impact on society within a theological framework. Prior to  returning to Tulsa, Dr. Roegiers created a unique course on the political, social, and historical significance of the famous Belgian series, The Adventures of Tintin. In addition to academic pursuits, Dr. Roegiers has spent more than a decade marketing and maintaining client relations as the Director of Business Development for her husband’s law practice.

Dr. Roegiers has an integrated perspective on education arising from her experience as a parent  volunteer and instructor in Montessori, Catholic, Classical, public, homeschooling, and Western European educational settings. Consequently, she remains an advocate for the Catholic Classical model.

Dr. Roegiers recently relocated from the Arizona desert to join the Holy Family community. She  currently serves on both the School Advisory Council and the Curriculum Sub-Committee at the  Holy Family Catholic School. As President, Dr. Roegiers is entrusted in forming Christian disciples through a classical, Catholic education centered on Christ who is the source of all  Truth, Goodness, Beauty, and Unity. She often crosses the pond to enjoy Belgian food, spirits, friends and family. Her most beloved job continues to be the rearing of her 6 children with her husband of nearly 25 years.
