Trish Spoerl, a native of El Paso, Texas, graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Education with a major in Physical Education prior to pursuing her master studies of Science at Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas.  During her undergraduate studies, her article, “The Positive Pole” was published in Swimmers Magazine while she was an USS Age Group swimming coach in Jenks, Oklahoma.  Mrs. Spoerl began her teaching career at the School of St. Mary in Tulsa in 1982.  She and her husband were married in 1985 and moved to Evergreen, Colorado where she continued coaching swimming at the Master’s Level in Colorado.   During her tenure at the School of St. Mary teaching Health and Physical Education, she volunteered to chair the newly created Diocesan Middle School Athletic Association for the Diocese of Tulsa.  For five years she coordinated and helped develop new athletic programs for middle school students in the Catholic Schools.  She has spent the last twenty years teaching at Holy Family Classical School.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, five children and their families, gardening, and fly fishing in Alaska.
