Fr. Kastl Announcement New Head of School

2024-2025 HEAD OF SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENT

A Message to the Holy Family Community from Very Rev. Gary Kastl, Rector of Holy Family Cathedral and Vicar General for the Diocese of Tulsa:

I am pleased to announce that the School Advisory Council and the Search Committee have completed their work in the search for the new Head of School for Holy Family Classical School.

I am happy to share that Mr. Everett Buyarski has accepted the offer to become our next Head of School.

Mr. Buyarski has been intimately involved in classical education for the past 15 years as the Academic Services Director for Kolbe Academy, a classical Catholic online and homeschool program. He and his family relocated to Tulsa to be closer to family and for his children to attend Holy Family Classical School.

Many of you may know his wife, Mrs. Melissa Buyarski who is our third-grade homeroom teacher, and their five sons, who all attend Holy Family Classical School.

A graduate of Gonzaga University, Mr. Buyarski has been responsible for curriculum development, academic advising, college counseling, school partnerships, and accreditation for Kolbe Academy. In his role at Kolbe he has assisted in the founding of eight classical schools and he is currently an aspirant in the diaconate formation program for the Diocese of Tulsa.

Mr. Buyarski had this to say after accepting the Head of School position: “Holy Family Classical School has been an enormous blessing to my family over the last three years. After having the great blessing to partner with families around the world for fifteen years in the education of their children with Kolbe Academy, I’m delighted to have the opportunity to serve my parish and local community. I look forward to working with the incredible faculty and staff at the school and to partnering with the wonderful families of Holy Family Classical School in educating their children in wisdom and virtue in the mission of forming Christian disciples.”

I am grateful to Dr. Jennifer Frey, Fr. O’Brien and all the members of the Search Committee who have been working hard over the past several months on finding an excellent candidate to lead our school community into the future.

Fr. Brian O’Brien, the incoming rector of Holy Family Cathedral and Classical School shared, "Everett Buyarski is the right leader at the right time for our school. His educational experience and passion for classical education is a great choice for the students and families of Holy Family Classical School. I can't wait to get to the cathedral and to start working with Mr. Buyarski and the teachers and staff. Everett Buyarski is the school leader we need."

Mr. Buyarski will begin his work with us on May 1, 2024.
