Nathaniel Buyarski, Class of 2026, receives the Intellectual Formation Award

Holy Family Classical High School awarded the Intellectual Formation Award under the patronage of Saint Thomas Aquinas to Mr. Nathaniel Buyarski, Class of 2026.

Dr. Frank Grabowski:

This award recognizes a love of wisdom, devotion to truth, and the disciplined pursuit of understanding that lies at the heart of authentic education.

For those who attentiveness to texts is noteworthy.

He has, in a quiet way, shaped even the way I think about the close and thoughtful reading of texts.

It was especially evident this year in our conversations over Pozdnyshev’s anguished confession in Tolstoy’s controversial novella, Kreutzer Sonata, a text  that truly tested the class’s interpretive patience and moral imagination – as well as last year in Rhetoric where he brought together close textual reading of Psalm 23 with his own lived experience at Holy Family.

For a time I have observed a steady resolve and dedication even when the school went through its own growing challenges. He represents in many ways the kind of intellectual strength and perseverance that we hope to cultivate in all of our students.

It is my honor to present the Intellectual Formation Award to Mr. Nathaniel Buyarski.
