Yes. In the initial year of Holy Family’s transition to a classical model, the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Oklahoma awarded the school a grant in the amount of $100,000 in support of faculty formation, curriculum realignment, and renovations to classrooms.
One of the distinguishing features of classical educational methods is that they play to students’ strengths and allow them ample freedom to excel. Our methods also look a lot like college-preparatory methods—plenty of seminar, presentation, evidence-based inference, memorization, dramatization, public speaking, and self-guided, problem-based learning. In this sense, Holy Family’s curriculum is an ideal preparation for a college preparatory high school path upon graduation.
Yes. We have a reading specialist included in our faculty. Reading assessments are conducting regularly and recommendations for curriculuar adjustments are made, as well as introducing techniques to help students excel. Where math is concerned, teachers conduct ongoing evaluations on a regular schedule using Saxon assessments, the chief aim being that each student complete their grade’s book each year.
Yes. We are currently exploring plans to incorporate a potential green space. With time, resources, and communal support, we are eager to make this happen as soon as possible!
Although we do not have a gym, we have a robust physical education program for students ranging from PK through 8th Grade because we believe in the power of athleticism to form virtue and character.
Yes. Beginning in 3rd Grade, students are able to participate in cross-country, track and field, volleyball, or basketball. While Holy Family does not always have its own team, we frequently partner with other area parochial schools in order to allow students the opportunity to engage in organized competitive athletics.
Yes, there are. At least once each semester, parents have the opportunity to join the faculty for seminar discussions about the great ideas which underpin the educational contents and methods of Holy Family Classical School. Parents are also able to join faculty and staff in attending weekly Exposition, Adoration, Benediction, and Mass.
Not yet, but it’s only a matter of time. Classical education tends to bear the good fruit of entire families re-imagining their use of leisure-time. For the school to lead the way by exemplifying this culture in after-school enrichment would be an opportunity too good to pass up! Less than a year into our classical renewal, there is already talk of establishing an after-school program for students and parents alike.
The faculty is a joyous group of friends who frequently socialize even when they are away from campus evenings and weekends. Each day they begin and end their work in prayer, saying Lauds and None together in the school’s chapel at 7:30am and 3:45pm.
The primary use of technology at Holy Family is to render accessible the Western traditions of art, architecture, and music. Technology is a means, not an end. As a tool, it can be useful, but as an end in itself, it has the potential to become an inadequate substitute for teaching and learning. Knowing this, and being aware of technology’s potential for misprision, we keep it at a safe and healthy distance, an attitude which is evident in many of our classroom setups.
There are three major influences on our theory of discipline at Holy Family Classical School: (i) Christian anthropology, (ii) temperament, and (iii) the Preventative System of St. John Bosco. Discipline always occurs within this framework because grace builds upon and perfects nature.
A proper Christian anthropology sees (a) the child’s innate goodness, (b) their fallen state, and (c) their potential for virtue and holiness.
The temperament of each child must likewise enter into discipline. Introversion and extro-version are not in themselves virtues or vices, but rather inclinations to specific virtues and vices.
Finally, one of the best ways to discipline is by preventing egregious behavior through strong relationships.

Yes. We take $500 off for each additional enrollment after the first. We do all we can to make Holy Family affordable for larger families.
We have a solution. We ask families to upload their most recent tax information for review by a secure third-party team (FACTS). They analyze annual household income, compare it to cost of attendance, and recommend financial assistance amounts household by household. Once this is determined for a particular family, we draw up a letter of offer drawing from several scholarship funds and then complete the enrollment process.
There are several tuition assistance programs that are available for our families. The first three most common providers of financial assistance are Friends of Catholic Education, The Gibbs Foundation, and the diocesan Saint Francis of Assisi Tuition Assistance Trust. Tax credit scholarships are also available for eligible familes from the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit, Veritas (diocesan) and GO for Catholic Schools.
If you love the mission of Holy Family Classical School, let’s try to make it work financially.
